Meet Paul

Paul Calandra is the Ontario PC candidate for Markham-Stouffville.

Paul’s dedication to his community is well-known. He was first elected as the Member of Parliament in 2008 and was re-elected in 2011. Prior to entering politics, Paul was a small business owner and insurance broker.

As a Member of Parliament, he served on many committees including Citizenship and Immigration, Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics, and Government Operations and Estimates. Paul was also appointed as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage, and the Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister, the President of the Queen’s Privy Council of Canada and to the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs.

Paul is a fierce advocate of local arts, culture, history, and heritage and has worked hard to honour the sacrifices others made in building our community.

Through Hockey Night in Stouffville, Paul helped raise over $350,000 to support mental health initiatives at the Markham Campus of our local hospital.

One of Paul’s greatest achievements in the community was the creation of the Rouge National Urban Park, helping to protect local farmlands.

Paul lives in Stouffville with his wife Melanie and two daughters Natalie and Olivia.

He is a strong voice for change and will work tirelessly so that Markham-Stouffville families pay less and get ahead.
